| When you say that the LS/VTEC is not reliable.. How is it not reliable?? I know its not a balanced engine but whats the worst that can happen? Cuz Im planning on puttin a GSR head, port and polish, and typer/stage2 cams on my LS soon. And ofcourse Ill do it the right way. | |

| its because the ls/vtec is is a lil swap of the head. most people when they do that dont fix the ecu timing . i believe.. gsr is out the factory so its less maintinence | |

| LS/VTEC is one of the best combinations ever done but it takes a little money to make it work right. If you go stock bottom end with b16 head vs gsr. I believe the GSR will make more power and last longer. B18 blocks arent meant to rev high. | |

| I'm pretty bias towards ls/vtecs, but there's nothing wrong with the gsr motor either. The gsr was engineered more for high rpm's with the block girdle and hi flow oil/water pumps but the ls/vtec motors do make more power. I guess if you break it down the ls/vtec is only as good as the person who built it. Proper oiling to the head is key and also using the correct timing belt with the proper amount of teeth is essential. If all of this is over looked and the motor was just slapped together than its basically a ticking time bomb | |

| GSR is a good swap! with a good tune you'll feel the power!! I have a USDM GSR but I beat type R and Ls/vtec hatchs. also they're reliable! but if you gana spend the money and do the Ls vtec the right you'll make good power also. | |

| Yeah I understand the whole concept of an engine. And I know not to rev the LS too much higher than it was ment for. So basically if its built right and treated right. Im good! lol Thanks for the input | |
